Here’s the final image in vector format. I changed many of the elements in the city, per the request of who I was making it for. The flying fish have been transformed into flies, and the building are made out of found objects instead of being more traditional looking.

At first glance you may mistaken “Barreleyes” (Macropinna Microstoma) to inhabitant landscapes like Planet Degobah. This animal’s cranium is completely transparent, allowing it to view potential predators from extreme angles.

Such as directly through the top of its head.

The Barreleye has extremely light-sensitive eyes that can rotate within a transparent, fluid-filled shield [...]

This was part of National Geographic’s 2008 International Photography Contest, and was the English edition’s honorable mention. I had to look twice before believing someone was actually able to take this photo. There are many great submissions and winners, but this is one of my favorites.
