My hope is that drastic weather changes like this don’t cause too many of the same problems in other countries. It’s disturbing how random the sizes can be, from varied pockets in farmer’s fields to depressions large enough to swallow an entire playground.
Craters of different sizes have been seen in a vast area of land stretching across eastern and southern China’s Jiangxi, Zhejiang, Sichuan, Hunan, Jiangsu and Guangxi province, state media reported.
Cheng Jie, a geological expert from the China University of Geoscience, said: “I think it is very unlikely that the sinkholes were caused by human activities. It is mainly a result of natural causes, like the sharp weather changes from extreme droughts to heavy rainstorms.”
Strangely enough, this isn’t the first documented case of this occurring. My friends and I had a discussion about spontaneous linguistic knowledge, and were debating whether it was her own memories that she was inheriting, or awakening dormant neural pathways that already had the information stored passively from study.
Our minds are curious tools.
Croatian doctors are baffled after a teenage girl who fell into a mysterious coma woke up speaking fluent German.
The parents of the 13-year-old from the southern town of Knin said their daughter had only just started studying German at school and had been trying to read German books and watch German television – but had never been that good in German.
But since waking up the teenager has been unable to speak Croatian and even refused it, but communicates only in perfect German far superior to her mastery of the language she had when she was taken ill.
The Croatian town of Knin
Split’s KB Hospital director Dujomir Marasovic said they were still trying to find out what caused the mysterious coma and why the girl has apparently forgotten how to speak Croatian.
Marasovic added: ‘You never know when recovering from such a trauma how the brain will react. Obviously we have some theories although at the moment we are limited in what we can say because we have to respect the privacy of the patient.’
He said the condition was so unusual that numerous doctors have examined the 13-year-old including German-speaking doctors to try and get to the bottom of the mystery.
Nurse Marika Lenovic, 28, said: ‘The case has attracted a lot of interest, not just among the media but also among medical professionals.’
Up in the frigid skies of northern Norway, residents witnessed a unique light show, one that had never before displayed in their evening skies. The official story has been confirmed as a Russian missile gone awry when tested fired from the Dmitry Donskoy submarine in the White Sea early on Wednesday, failing at the third stage.
This emerged despite earlier reports denying a missile launch yesterday. Even early today there was no formal confirmation from the Russian Defence Ministry.
The light appears to be unconnected with the aurora borealis, or northern lights, the natural magnetic phenomena that can often be viewed in that part of the world.
The mystery began when a blue light seemed to soar up from behind a mountain in the north of the country. It stopped mid-air, then began to move in circles. Within seconds a giant spiral had covered the entire sky.
I don’t know. How does a malfunctioned piece of ballistics cause a spiral to appear in the sky with another blue spiral light emanating from the center of it? Even when considering the official story, the conformed geometry of the pattern seems to be too precise for the aftermath of a failed launch attempt. Watch video of the light show here to see what I mean.
Tromso Geophysical Observatory researcher Truls Lynne Hansen agreed, saying the missile had likely veered out of control and exploded, and the spiral was light reflecting on the leaking fuel.
But last night Russia denied it had been conducting missile tests in the area.
A Moscow news outlet quoted the Russian Navy as denying any rocket launches from the White Sea area.
Norway should be informed of such launches under international agreements, it was stressed.
However this morning media reports claimed a missile had indeed been launched from the White Sea. Test firings are usually made from the White Sea, close to the Norwegian Arctic region.
Kommersant newspaper reported today that a test-firing before dawn on Wednesday coincided with the light show in the northern sky.
When it comes to information that is out of my skill set, I enjoy hearing lectures by experts in those particular fields. What if hundreds of them were officially documented to being witness to unexplainable and curious events?
Science logically accounts for roughly 1% of the known universe, and we have explored less than 1% of our own ocean floors. What mysteries exist in remaining 99% of physical reality remain to be determined..or discovered.

Strange mammal alert. Don’t you wish you had a pet like this? I think if the X-men had a cat, it would be similar, except it would have some type of sonic sound ability. I like how this feline poses for photos: WITH AUTHORITY.
They say cats have nine lives, but this one has four ears.
A genetic abnormality gave Yoda, of Downers Grove, Ill., four ear flaps instead of two.
Ted and Valerie Rock first spied the little guy in 2006 at neighborhood bar on the South Side of Chicago before a Bears game. He was the last of a litter of eight put up for adoption by the bar’s owner.
“The people in the bar, because it was coming up on Halloween, were thinking it was a devil cat or had evil powers or something,” Ted Rock said.
But the Rocks, who had lost their cat of 20 years just 6 months prior, saw something special in the gray kitten and decided to take him home.
Their “Star Wars”-loving son thought to name the cat after the tiny Jedi master.
What was captured on a camera in the early hours of the morning in North Carolina? Things that make you go hmm. I’m in the same frame of mind as Charlie, the guy in the video. But it seems even he is left scratching his head.
…..It’s something, so far, the Asheville School District says can’t be explained. Charlie Glazener, Executive Director of Public Relations for the District says, “I’m a logical person, and I wanted to be able to explain to these folks, or anybody, this is what I think it is. It’s a bat flying around here, and it casts a shadow; but then why is the shadow down here from a different angle, and it’s not in the shape of a bat?” It’s that shadow cast on the floor that has even the skeptics perplexed.
How weird this creature is. After closer inspection, its face seems to have proportions closer to a gorilla than a monkey, but I guess “monkey-faced piglet” has a catchier sound to it. Either way, the fact that it jumps because its back legs are long make for an even stranger appearance.
Villagers were shocked after a monkey-like piglet was born in China.
Curious locals flocked to the home of owner Feng Changlin after news of the piglet spread in Fengzhang village, Xiping township.
“It’s hideous. No one will be willing to buy it, and it scares the family to even look at it!” Feng told Oriental Today.
He says the piglet looks just like a monkey, with two thin lips, a small nose and two big eyes. Its rear legs are also much longer than its forelegs, causing it to jump instead of walk.
Feng’s wife said the monkey-faced piglet was one of five newborns of a sow which the family had raised for nine years.
“My God, it was so scary. I didn’t known what it was. I was really frightened,” she said.
“But our son likes to play with it, and he stopped us from getting rid of it. He even feeds it milk.”
Neighbours have suggested the couple keep the piglet to see how it looks as it matures.
It produced a blast hundreds of times stronger than the atomic bomb, was seen hundreds of miles away and narrowly missed obliterating an entire city — but 100 years to the week after the mysterious explosion in Siberia, no one is any closer to understanding what caused it.
Despite countless investigations, the so-called Tunguska Event remains one of the 20th century’s greatest enigmas — seized upon by mystics, UFO enthusiasts and scientists as evidence of angry gods, extraterrestrial life or the impending threat of a cosmic collision.
But says Stanislav Krivyakov, who has spent the past 35 years investigating the Siberian blast, despite intense interest in the event — which has featured in several episodes of “The X-Files” — no conclusive evidence has been found to support any theory.
“There are many people who build their hypotheses based on scanty information,” he told CNN.
“But there are many aspects to the phenomenon that don’t fit any standards or analogies. In everything about it we find something complicated, problematic, vague. It’s truly out of the ordinary.”
A strange pattern appeared in a field in South Korea this past weekend. It hasn’t been determined at this time whether the formation is man-made or unexplainable in origin. What is fascinating about this particular shape is its resemblance to the lunar cycles of the year, which is further explained below.
At this point in time we estimate the Milky Way contains about 500 thousand million stars, and that the universe contains roughly 100 billion galaxies. If we factor our galaxy as being average in size, we come to an estimate of roughly 100 million billion earth-like planets that may exist and be conducive to life.
By method of dissemination, it surfaces the question of the effect on human species if interaction with life from one of these planets were a reality. Commerce, manufacturing, social class, energy mining, and virtually every other strata of the earth would experience a shift. None would feel the shock waves of this as much as an individual’s beliefs about the world around them. That’s why I find this story below interesting.
Aliens could be out there, and believing that the universe may contain extraterrestrial life does not contradict a faith in God, the Vatican’s chief astronomer says.
The vastness of the universe – with its hundred billion galaxies and trillions of stars – means there could be other forms of life outside Earth, even intelligent ones, the Rev Jose Gabriel Funes, a Jesuit who directs the Vatican Observatory, says.
“How can we rule out that life may have developed elsewhere?” Mr Funes said in an interview with Vatican newspaper L’Osservatore Romano, headlined: “The extraterrestrial is my brother.”
“Just as there is a multitude of creatures on Earth, there could be other beings, even intelligent ones, created by God. This does not contradict our faith, because we cannot put limits on God’s creative freedom,” he said.
“Just as we consider earthly creatures as ‘a brother’ and ‘sister’, why should we not talk about an ‘extraterrestrial brother’? It would still be part of creation.”
This Thursday marks the premier of the new Indiana Jones movie: Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. The focal point of each Indy adventure wraps around something fantastic and educational about different cultures and their history. As the title of the new film implies, crystal skulls offer the main course of intrigue to the story. Though it will include the garnish of effects and modern-day entertainment, there is a realistic pulp of information that acts as a binding agent.
The 13 crystal skulls of world (outside of cinema) have a rich and deep past stemming from central and south america. There are many debates and claims as to their true purpose, with specific stories influencing the concepts of the movie directly. The physically documented scientific properties of some skulls are a marvel of construction, contradicting the technology available at their time. Where do the lines between fabrication and fact bleed into one another’s territory? Read on and draw your own conclusions.
One of archeology’s most compelling mysteries is that of the 13 Crystal Skulls. Skulls have been one of the most powerful objects of symbolism in human history, all over the world. Together, they form a mystery as enigmatic as the Nazca Lines, the Great Pyramids and Stonehenge.
These skulls are believed to be between 5000 and 35000 years old. During early expeditions, archaeologists were told by locals that the skulls possessed magical powers and healing properties. However, people were unsure as to where they came from, or even why they existed.
Some like to believe that these were remains from the lost civilization of Atlantis. Others like to believe these are fakes. And yet another group of psychics believe that these skulls have the capability to enable us to look into the past, present and future.
Historians and social anthropologists decided to find out more about the strange skulls. Very soon, they came across an ancient Indian legend saying that there had been thirteen crystal skulls of the Goddess of Death; they had been kept separately from each other under the strict control of pagan priests and special warriors.
Searches for more skulls started; some of them were found in museums and some in private collections not only in the USA, but in Mexico, Brazil, France, Mongolia, and in Tibet. There were more than 13 skulls found. However, not all of them were as perfect as Mitchell-Hedges- was. Very likely, those were just later attempts to create something similar to the original skulls that were believed to have been gifts by God to the people.
The very construction and make of the skulls defies common logic. There are several crystal skulls in existence today around the world. We start off with the most famous one: The Mitchell-Hedges Skull.
Have you ever had a dream that seemed so crystal clear, and found the same event happening in conscious life days, weeks, or years later? Sometimes I wonder if the feeling of Deja Vu could be an after-taste of the same phenomenon. One thing is for certain, the logic of it has never been fully explained.
For those of you who may doubt the validity of applying the information revealed by dreams, read the following story for a surprise. Garth Murray managed to build a business success from scratch, all by acknowledging and following the events shown to him while in sleep.
Garth Murray used to be an air traffic controller, until a series of strokes left his memory decimated and his career destroyed.
But instead of giving up, he now designs and builds high end loud speakers that are winning accolades and are in high demand around the world.
Garth’s speakers are so in demand that he simply cannot make them quick enough.
It all happened after Garth got blood poisoning after a routine operation. He suffered a number of strokes and damaged his brain.
He lost his job and slept up to 22 hours a day – but sleep had its own rewards.
“Things were pretty dire and then one night I had this dream,” Garth Murray explained. “And in the dream I saw myself making a loud speaker – something I’d never done before.”
He woke up, drew up the plans and spent six months making it. Meanwhile the visions continued.
“I actually had a further dream where I saw one of our larger speakers and I saw the name of the company,” Mr Murray said.
