This image shows a microscopic view of fine-grained material at the tip of the Robotic Arm scoop as seen by the Robotic Arm Camera (RAC) aboard NASA’s Phoenix Mars Lander on June 20, 2008, the 26th Martian day, or sol, of the mission.
RAC scientists took this image at a resolution of 30 microns by rotating [...]

George Carlin was one of my favorite comedians. More-so than his social tag as an entertainer, he was always pushing the boundaries of free speech and writing throughout the evolution of his career. Treading lightly and Carlin were a classic duo of paradox for those who know about “You Are All Diseased“, “Complaints and [...]

If you’re a fan of Kung Fu Panda, you may find this clip entertaining. It’s one of my favorite movies, Five Deadly Venoms. Some of the animal’s named are changed, but the basic premise of five students training under different styles with the sixth being the main protagonist carries the storyline. I [...]

If you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,
But make allowance for their doubting too;
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or being lied about, don’t deal in lies,
Or being hated, don’t give way to hating,
And [...]

Here’s a mixed media image I just put together. She is a priestess from Planet Gunganap from the region of Noka, practicing the rituals of her culture and time. This picture will be sold as a giclee print in a set for the upcoming Pocket Full Of Monsters show at Munky King, along [...]

I am curious about the controversy surrounding knowledge of ancient cultures such as the Dogon Tribe, some of which is said to measure equal to astrophysics and super string theory. In addition, how did the Dogon have knowledge of far away star systems that we have only discovered recently with our technology? Was it [...]

Engineers at iXs Research Corporation unveiled a robotic teddy bear designed to work as a talking car navigation system. The prototype robot stands 30 centimeters (1 ft) tall and has 6 joints in its arms and neck, which it uses to make gestures while providing spoken directions.
The robot bear is also equipped with functions to [...]

A strange pattern appeared in a field in South Korea this past weekend. It hasn’t been determined at this time whether the formation is man-made or unexplainable in origin. What is fascinating about this particular shape is its resemblance to the lunar cycles of the year, which is further explained below.

Here’s the progress pictures and finished version of my “underlava transportation” painting, based on the oarfish I posted about earlier. If you want to see images of the finished painting from different angles, go to the artwork section of the website and click on the “gallery/strange” category here.
This 4 canvas painting, a print I [...]

What an interesting person this guy is. Haven’t we all had things heroic and tragic that have inspired us to imagine possibilities as children? It seems that Ronald never stopped thinking this way, even if the boundaries were the very dimensions of space and time.
Ronald Mallett was born in Roaring Spring, Pennsylvania, on [...]

ROME (AP) — A deer with a single horn in the center of its head — much like the fabled, mythical unicorn — has been spotted in a nature preserve in Italy, park officials said Wednesday.
“This is fantasy becoming reality,” Gilberto Tozzi, director of the Center of Natural Sciences in Prato, told The Associated Press. [...]

This is one movie that I’ve been very excited to see since glancing at the maquettes last year at comicon. The character designs and poses were so dynamic! I am a kung fu classics movie junkie, so I was hoping they’d do some kind of justice or homage to the genre. After seeing [...]

Levitation has been elevated from being pure science fiction to science fact, according to a study reported today by physicists.
In earlier work the same team of theoretical physicists showed that invisibility cloaks are feasible.
Now, in another report that sounds like it comes out of the pages of a Harry Potter book, the University of St [...]

For the past couple days I’ve been working on a new painting “underlava transport”. This account details how I was fortunate enough to meet Randy and his large-foreheaded kind.
Ask yourself with the discernment of Santa Claus, “Wouldn’t it be awesome if there were something that moved terrestrial animals from volcano to volcano?” Of course this [...]
